Feel Good Vibes…

It’s incredible how our emotions can be triggered by sight, smell, taste, touch & sound….

I’d like to draw your attention to the auditory sense… Our hearing is one of our first senses to develop in the womb. Babies are born recognising voices & music. Hearing is such an emotive sense especially when music and lyrics combine. It can work as a time machine taking you back & tugging on nostalgic heartstrings reminding you of people & places. Or simply remind you of a good night with the people you love.  It really is mood altering.

Often when working with clients I suggest that they create a music list to help them move towards their goals.. Advertisers use this kind of thing all of the time to get you closer to their products or services. How else could they make you associate a supermarket as calming & sexy! This particular shopping place used Fleetwood Mac’s – Albatross with its calming beats & uplifting tones to help M&S sell us everything from turkey to crisps. The sugar based drinks company Coke is particularly good at this type of advertising… So emotive, I’m thinking Etta James “I just wanna make love to you” 11.30am ring any bells… Throw in a half clad toned, tanned torso! Bingo! You’ve just made a fizzy chemical drink that potentially causes Alzheimers or a stroke sexy!… Not quite as appealing when you checkout the effects the ingredients can have! Thats for another post – giggle.

I want you to think about the kind of sounds that you find Inspirational, relaxing, upbeat, motivational the tracks you workout, party & even fall in love to.  What music lifts you Up! Let’s create a play list… I’d love to hear your music choices & what they do for you.  Post me your favourites here I’d love to hear from you…

Here is one of my favourite feel good uplifting tunes… HAPPY – Pharrell Williams! Sorry, I know it got really over played at one point but every time I hear it It makes me HappY!

Have a great day…

Yours gratefully! as always…
